Kev Brear

Kevin Brear

Kev is the current chair of ISO TC 309 and has been in post for almost 2 years. He has been involved in the development of standards at national, European and ISO levels for 20 years and he recently led the project to develop and publish EN ISO 22361:2022 Crisis Management – Guidelines. He led the project team that developed the first version of EN ISO 22300 Terminology, and he has contributed to the development of numerous standards in the fields of resilience, risk management, business continuity, crisis management, cyber security, governance and oversight.
Kev is currently the founder and director at Risk and Resilience Consulting Services ltd and he has held senior leadership positions in professional services, banking and financial sector firms. Prior to these positions, he served as a police officer in the City of London Police.
He was recently awarded the status of Chartered cyber security professional by the UK Cyber Security Council and he is a frequent industry speaker and contributor to publications.
He holds an MSc in risk, crisis and disaster management from the University of Leicester.

Prof. Dr. Christoph Brömmelmeyer


Christoph Brömmelmeyer completed his doctorate in law at the Humboldt University of Berlin after passing his second state law examination. He holds the Chair of Civil Law and European Business Law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder). Since 2010, he has been Vice President for Human Resources, Law, Equality and Family there. He has also been Chairman of the Senate of the European University Viadrina since 2018. Christoph Brömmelmeyer is furthermore a member of the Consumer Advisory Board of the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority.

Daniel Lucien Bühr

Daniel Lucien Bühr is a Partner at LALIVE and is based in Zurich. He advises and represents clients in governance matters and in internal and external investigations. Daniel Bühr also reviews and monitors corporate governance and ESG frameworks, with a particular focus on board oversight and compliance. He is a member of the ISO Working Groups on Governance of organizations and on Compliance management systems. He is also a member of the European Board of the International Association of Independent Corporate Monitors, a founding member of the International Academy of Financial Crime Litigators and Co-founder of Ethics and Compliance Switzerland.

Carolynn Chalmers

Carolynn is Chief Executive Officer of the Good Governance Academy and The ESG Exchange both of which were founded by Professor Mervyn King. She has recently also taken the position of CEO of Chapter Zero Southern Africa. Carolynn has spent the last 20 years assisting leaders and leadership teams to understand and apply governance principles and generate value for their organizations. She uses of her expertise and experience in corporate governance, data, technology and systems thinking to do so. Carolynn is formally trained in Applied Mathematics, Ecology, Zoology, Computer Science and Marketing.
Carolynn has extensive management and governance experience and has held various Chief Information Officer, Chief Technology Officer, Board, Board Committee and Executive roles for various types and sizes of organisations, spanning many industries.
Carolynn is co-editor of the ISO standard for the governance of organizations (ISO 37000), co-convenor of the Governance Maturity Technical Committee (ISO 37004) and Chairperson of the associated South African Bureau of Standards mirror committee, TC309, where she also represents South Africa's King Committee.
Carolynn is well known for her successes in designing and leading large, complex strategy and organizational transformation implementations - she attributes this success to the application of effective governance principles.

In Orange Polska as Chief of Security & Compliance and Chairman of Orange Polska Data & Artificial Intelligence Ethics Committee. Previously associated with other companies in the area of ICT and with the public sector as a manager, director and plenipotentiary of the board. Performing also functions in the Polish Ministry of Communications and the Office of Telecommunications. From 2014 Member of the Board  of Directors at TP TELTECH and Interkam Orange Group. Member of the Compliance Advisory Committee of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Since 2018 Board Member of The Polish Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications.

Andreas Frank

Andreas is a Partner for Forensic & Integrity Services at EY, focusing on Business Partner Integrity Management. 
He joined EY in 2021 and is based in the EY office in Berlin, Germany. 
Andreas graduated with a degree in business administration. He is a certified compliance officer and was a guest lecturer for forensic interviewing at a private university.
He is a trained officer of the German Military Police Forces.

Susanne Friedrich

Susanne Friedrich is the director of the “Alliance for Integrity”, a global business-driven, multi-stakeholder initiative seeking to promote transparency and integrity in the economic system. Susanne is an organizational developer with large experience in capacity building and multi-stakeholder management. She started her professional career at the Chilean Export Promotion Bureau and worked as an advisor for public-private partnerships in development cooperation for several years. Before joining the Alliance for Integrity in June 2018 she worked in various projects of the German development cooperation in Latin America and Germany, in fields such as inclusive business and sustainable value chains and export promotion for SMEs. She also directed a regional project dedicated to capacity building for decentralization in the Andean region. She is a member of the OECD Trust in Business Network and Member of the Advisory Board of Transparency International Germany.

Prof. Dr. Victoria Hurth

Victoria has spent almost 30 years spanning both academia and companies to answer the question: How can we help organisations make decisions that align with long-term wellbeing for all (sustainability) rather than undermine this shared goal? Her hands-on action-focused work with global executives combines insights on purpose, governance, marketing, leadership and culture – as pillars of the value an organisation creates or destroys. She is a Fellow of University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL). Among other achievements Victoria co-led the 5 year development of the first global ISO standard in Governance of Organizations was Technical Author for the first national standard in Purpose-Driven Organisations (PAS 808:2022) and advised the UN on the development of a methodology for SDG 12.6.1 (sustainability reporting). As a Fellow of University of Cambridge’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) Victoria is engaged on a range of executive and academic leadership programmes, and driving thought leadership and research, including with some of the world’s largest financing organisations. She co-designed, and is Head Tutor, for CISL’s online certificate: ‘Sustainable Marketing, Media and Creative.’ Additionally, Victoria is head the Sustainability Impact Advisory committee for UnaTerra VC sustainability scale-up fund, a member of SACE’s Impact Advisory Committee, a regular UNCTAD review panel member for ISAR Honors, and was a member of WBCSD’s working group on Governance.  She is the Academic Lead for Common Ground Research Network’s Climate Change theme and a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Scientist’s Warning Foundation, a member of the British Academy’s Net Zero Policy Working Group.  As an active governance professional, Victoria is currently a Non-Executive Director of the organic standards company Soil Association Certification Ltd and previously was a Director of a social enterprise, and a board member of a regional Social Enterprise Group. She has over 20 years’ experience in marketing, management and sustainability, having previously worked for 3M and Accenture with companies including Marks and Spencer, Cancer Research, and J Sainsbury and developing theory as an Associate Professor of Sustainable Business and Marketing as part of 10 years as a full time academic and has published research papers and thought pieces in journals including: Nature Climate Change, Energy Policy, The New Scientist and Sustainable Development. Victoria is a Fellow of the Chartered Management Association, a Chartered Manager (and previous regional board member) and a Chartered Marketer, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Dr. Peter Jonas

Peter Jonas was born and raised in Vienna, Austria. After graduating from high school, he went on to study physics at Vienna University of Technology. He joined Austrian Standards in the year 1994 and has worked 15 years in the department of standardisation. Dr. Peter Jonas currently holds the position "Director Certification", heading the certification body of Austrian Standards, an accredited certification body for compliance management systems.
Dr. Peter Jonas has been involved in the standardisation and certification of compliance management systems for several years, he is an expert on the International Committee ISO TC 309 "Organizational Governance" and was Project Editor for the development of the International Standard ISO 37301 “Compliance Management Systems”.

Claus Köhler is specialised in corporate law, M&A, joint ventures, antitrust law, industrial and intellectual property law, restructuring and arbitration. In this context, he also focuses on cross-border issues. Claus Köhler is a founding partner of MEISTERRECHTSANWÄLTE (2010). Prior to that, he was a partner in international law firms for a total of 15 years. He founded and managed foreign offices in London and Warsaw as partner in charge. He studied at the Universities of Munich (Dr. jur., 1990) and Geneva and at Georgetown University (LL.M., 1989) and taught as a professor at Kozminski University in Warsaw (2001). Claus Köhler is admitted to practice as an Attorney-at-Law in New York and at the United States Supreme Court and is a specialist in commercial and corporate law.

Dr Axel Kravatzky is the Managing Partner of Syntegra-360. He has worked with boards of directors and executive teams throughout the Caribbean and Europe for over two decades. For the past three years, Axel has been the Vice-Chair of ISO/TC309 Governance of Organizations, and for the past six years, he has been the co-convener and then convenor of ISO/TC309/WG1 Governance of Organizations, which developed ISO 37000:2021 Governance of Organizations — Guidance.  
Axel currently also represents the Technical Committee on Governance of Organizations on ISO’s Climate Change Coordinating Committee and ISO’s ESG Coordinating Committee.  
In 2022, Axel was appointed to lead the governance practice group of the newly established global ESG Exchange as convenor. In 2023, Axel was voted President of the European Chamber of Business in Trinidad & Tobago (EUROCHAMTT). He also serves as the Vice-Chair of the AMCHAMTT ESG Committee and is the founding Chair of the Caribbean Corporate Governance Institute (2012-2016). 
As Syntegra’s practice lead for Governance and Strategy, he has worked with Boards of Directors, Board Committees and Executives for over 20 years on leadership & management development, strategy, and change management. His specialities include the financial sectors, state-owned enterprises, utilities, and not-for-profit sectors.

Prof. Dr. Bartosz Makowicz

Bartosz Makowicz is a university professor at the Faculty of Law of the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder). He is the initiator and director of the Viadrina Compliance Center, the first intra- and interdisciplinary scientific research institution on governance, risk and compliance. Bartosz is additionally a member of various academic advisory boards and advisory committees of compliance associations, such as the German Institute for Compliance.

He is the author of many professional publications in national and international journals. He is also the author of handbooks and monographs on compliance topics. In total, Makowicz has published over 100 titles on the interdisciplinary research field of governance, risk and compliance.

As a compliance expert, he has given more than 100 lectures at national and international conferences and congresses and is employed worldwide as a professional compliance trainer. Among other things, he heads the German delegation for the development of the standards ISO 19600 Compliance Management Systems as well as ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management Systems on a global level and chaired the national mirror committee "Governance and Compliance Management" at DIN e.V.. In these functions, he will in future be in charge of the newly established TC 309 for the development of a global ISO standard for governance and whistleblowing. Among other things, he advises national and foreign governments on compliance issues. He is furthermore an academic advisor at the Compliance Academy, the Münster-based company specialising in compliance training.

Anna-Maija Mertens

Dr. Anna-Maija Mertens is Executive Director of Transparency International Germany. She has a background in political sciences, economics, and history; her PhD related to International Politics with the focus on international and national political decision-making, and the political legitimacy of these decision-making systems. Before entering to TI, Anna-Maija was Director of the Finnish Institute in Berlin with the objective to strengthen the collaboration between Finland and the German speaking countries in Europe. Anna-Maija has initiated and led projects on science-business cooperation, both as a consultant for ministries, universities, and companies and as a university staff.
Anna-Maija teaches political sciences and anti-corruption in both English and German at the University of Erfurt, and at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. Anna-Maija originates from Finland, but meanwhile, she has both the German and the Finnish citizenships.”

Previously, he was Global Head of Investigation at thyssenkrupp AG for more than 10 years, where he was responsible for all compliance matters. He started his career as a lawyer in the antitrust team of Clifford Chance in Düsseldorf and Brussels. Andrew Samuels is the founder and CEO of WislPort and is widely recognised as a thought leader in Whistleblowing operations and its role in integrated governance. A regular media commentator on whistleblowing, Andrew has contributed his expertise to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), The UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Whistleblowing and the Cambridge Symposium on Economic Crime amongst other engagement in the private, charity and public sectors across multiple regions globally..
Since 2016 he has been involved as subject matter expert to the British Standards Institute (BSI) on Whistleblowing and has represented BSI to the International Standards Organisation (ISO) for ISO37002 , the international standard for whistleblowing management systems since its’ inception in 2017 for which he has played a key role in the development of this global standard.
Andrew firmly believes and works with organisations to demonstrate that effective whistleblowing programmes deliver economic and reputational benefits by listening, protecting, and acting upon the valuable insights that internal whistleblowers provide.

Jan Schreiner is a Vice President Risk & Compliance at TRATON SE, the commercial vehicles business of Volkswagen Group with iconic brands like Scania, MAN and Navistar. In his current role, he is responsible for Risk Management, Internal Control System and certain parts of the Compliance Management System, including Compliance Risk Assessments and Compliance Monitoring & Effectiveness. Before, he was working as a Senior Manager in the Risk Advisory service line of EY Germany for more than ten years. During that time, he was on long-term assignments to EY in Singapore and the U.S. He holds a master’s degree in industrial engineering (Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur) from the University of Karlsruhe and is a Certified Internal Auditor. He is a member of the German Institute of Compliance (“DICO”) where he was leading the working group Compliance Risk Assessment for many years. On behalf of DICO, he is also a member of the DIN standards committee “Governance & Compliance Management”.

Project leader and responsible of the Circular Economy program in Standards Norway. A governmental assignment to raise awareness of standards as a tool for sustainable development and increase participation of Norwegian experts in the standardization work. Previous, Head of Circular 
Economy and Biobased industries, Innovation Norway. Innovation Norway's objective is to be the policy instrument of the state of Norway and the county authorities for achieving value-creating business development throughout the country. Main responsibility to implement Circular Economy 
and sustainability in the organization and its services. Prior Innovation Norway, Senior Innovation Advisor in Nordic Innovation. Nordic Innovation is a Nordic institution working to promote crossborder trade and innovation belonging to Nordic Council of Ministers in Copenhagen. Ms. Thormodsdottir has been participation in several national, Nordic and international panels, projects and processes concerning innovation, sustainability and green growth.

Rajeev is Risk Management professional with more than 23 years of industry experience encompassing standard implementation, legal and standard compliance, risk management, information/cyber security, business continuity, supplier risk management. He currently is an AVP and Heads the Risk Management function at Infosys BPM. He started his career as a practicing Lawyer and gradually moved to corporate roles in risk management.
He also plays a crucial role in shaping international standards. As the Convenor of ISO Technical Committee 309, Working Group 6, he contributes to the development of the Governance Maturity Model standard ISO 37004. Additionally, he is the Convenor of ISO Technical Committee 292, Working Group 8, which focuses on revising the ISO 28000 series of standards for supply chain security. Rajeev's commitment to promoting best practices extends to ISO Technical Committee 262, too, where he contributes to the field of risk management. He also serves as the Convenor of India's National Mirror Committee to ISO Technical Committee 262 Risk Management, established by the Bureau of Indian Standards.”

Astrid Wirges was born in Munich in 1959. She studied law at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich from 1979 to 1989 and has been an attorney since 1998 and in-house lawyer since 2016. She began 
her professional career at Digital Equipment GmbH. From 1989 to 1992, she worked as a personnel officer for the Technical Services division in Munich. She then moved to the employment law department at Digital Equipment. In this position she advised the management of Digital Equipment GmbH in all matters of labor law and labor relations. In 1994, she took over the management of the Human Resources, Legal and General Administration Department at Wohnbau GmbH in Bonn, one of the largest private real estate companies in Germany. There, she was responsible for the company's business transformation, among other things. In 1997, she moved to DIN Deutsches Institut für Normung e. V., first as Head of the Human Resources and Legal Department and, since 2013, as a member of the DIN Group's Executive Board. In this function, she accompanied the DIN Group in its realignment as a modern service provider in all matters relating to standardization. In 2020, she handed over the reins of Human Resources Management to a colleague in order to be able to devote herself fully to the realignment of the DIN Group's Legal Department as Chief Legal Officer. In this role, she has been leading the realignment of DIN Governance since November 2022.

Sonja Wuestemann

Prof. Dr. Sonja Wüstemann

Sonja Wüstemann is Professor of Financial Reporting at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) and member of the Viadrina Compliance Center. She is also member of the Scientific Committee of German Institute for Compliance (DICO) and the DICO Working Group on CSR and Human Rights. Her research focus is on ESG disclosure / CSR reporting with a particular interest in human rights disclosures.
