Climate Leadership and Trade Agreements: From Competitive Disadvantage to Mutual Benefits of Transatlantic Technology and Innovation Exchange
Reimund Schwarze, Ulrike Will and Anna-Katharina Topp conducted a RECAP15-Seminar on the topic of integration of climate protective measures into free trade agreements at the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies (AICGS) in Washington D.C. on September 27th, 2013. Ulrike Will presented several ways of including climate protective measures into bilateral trade agreements considering the advantages and disadvantages from both a legal and economic perspective. Afterwards, academic and political representatives discussed the practicability and the consequences of such measures. A summary of the seminar is available on the website of AICGS.
