Erasmus+ Blended Short Term Mobilities
In the new program generation of the Erasmus+ program (2021-2027), the opportunities for stays abroad have once again been greatly expanded.
If you are a student (BA / MA / PhD) at Viadrina, you have the following options:
- Classic Erasmus+ stay abroad Long-term mobility with a duration of 2 - 12 months (optional with virtual phase).
- Short-term mobility lasting 5-30 days (with mandatory virtual phase); for example participation in a summer school abroad.
- Participation in a BIP (with mandatory virtual phase).
The information on this page relates to stays abroad for study purposes, in the form of short-term mobility. This includes, for example, participation in a summer school (with a virtual component). Who can be funded?
Viadrina students (BA/ MA/ PhD) can be funded as part of the Erasmus+ program.
What is funded?
Stays for study purposes in one of the Erasmus+ eligible countries.
Duration of funding
For short-term blended mobilities, the funding period is a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days. The physical stay must be supplemented by a mandatory virtual component.
The application for funding in the Erasmus+ mobility program can only be submitted at the Viadrina. A direct application to the EU Commission or the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is not possible.
Application deadline
There is no application deadline, we allocate the funds on an ongoing basis. Whether the funding can be granted depends on the available budget and the number of applicants. If you are interested, contact us directly, preferably with at least 3 months' notice.
As soon as you have our approval, you can submit the funding documents.
In the case of mobility for study purposes, the corresponding Erasmus+ documents must be completed.

Before departure
The Learning Agreement must be signed by the departmental coordinators of the Viadrina and the host university before departure.
In addition, the Grant Agreement must be completed and signed by the doctoral candidate.
During the stay abroad
Based on the grant agreement, up to 70% of the allocated mobility grant is paid out. In order to be able to pay out the mobility grant, the account information of the applicant must be given in the grant agreement. A cash payment is not possible.
The stay abroad must be confirmed on site by the host university. To do this, the Letter of Confirmation must be completed and signed by the host university. Furthermore, the Learning Agreement must be signed by the host university.
After returning
You must submit the following documents to the Viadrina within the first four weeks after your return:
- Letter of Confirmation – in the original
- Learning Agreement – as a copy if there is no original
If achievements have been made at the university:
- Transcript of Records – In some cases, the partner university sends the ToR directly to us. In this case, we will inform you about it.
- Online participant report – You have 30 days to complete the online report required by the EU. The link will be sent to you automatically by the EU database. Please also check your spam emails.
You will only receive the remaining 30% of your funding once the report has been received and all the necessary documents have been checked. If you do not complete the report within 30 days, the EU reserves the right to reclaim the amount already paid to you.
The Erasmus+ program offers financial support for short-term physical mobility:
