VCGS courses are open to all doctoral and postdoctoral researchers at the Viadrina, and via the Postdoc Network Brandenburg (see below) to all postdocs at the four Brandenburg universities. Some courses are also open to undergraduate students interested in PhD studies or personnel in academic support structures. Please find the main target group of each course in the detailed description.

Certificates of Attendance

If desired, certificates of attendance can be issued.

The VCGS does not issue ECTS or any other credits. PhD students enrolled in the International PhD Study Programme in Social and Cultural Sciences are kindly asked to contact the coordinator of the PhD Study Programme, Dr. Philipp Zessin-Jurek, for the validation of VCGS key qualification courses.

Child Care

Please inform us about potential child care needs when registering. Child care can be offered on site; costs can be reimbursed for enrolled PhD students. Please contact the Family Affairs Office for such financial assistance.

Teaching in Higher Education

Research assistants, research fellows, and lecturers are invited to participate in courses on Teaching in Higher Education. Please find further information (German only) at the Netzwerk Studienqualität Brandenburg.

Postdoc Network Brandenburg

In the framework of the Postdoc Network Brandenburg (https://www.postdoc-network-brandenburg.de/en/), the key qualification programs of all four Brandenburg universities are open to all postdoctoral researchers within the State of Brandenburg.
