Integration of Social Sciences and Humanities in Horizon 2020
The Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) are mainly integrated in Horizon 2020 in the Societal Challenge 6 "Europe in a changing world: inclusive, innovative and reflective societies“. Moreover, the European Commission follows the objective to further anchor the SSH-related research contributions as a cross-cutting issue across all research funding lines ("embedding of SSH").
Collaborative research in Horizon 2020 is, therefore, focusing not on disciplines but rather on the interdisciplinary analysis of societal challenges. Therefore, the participation of SSH in collaborative research projects in the seven funding of "Societal Challenges" is explicitly welcome.
