Current Grant Programs and Calls for Proposals

The Viadrina Starting grant is aimed at newly enrolled students from Poland in undergraduate and consecutive degree programs who are enrolled at a German university for the first time.

For the academic year 2024/2025 you can apply from Aptil 30th, 2024.
The application deadline is September 30, 2024, 23:59.

Eligibility

Newly enrolled students from Poland in undergraduate and consecutive degree programs who are enrolled at a German university for the first time.
(except for Master's programs with fees and visiting students)

Selection

  • by commission
  • Ranking based on Abitur grade or Bachelor's grade or HZP grade, taking into account the letter of motivation

Criterion

  • Applicants entering the 1st and 2nd semester of Bachelor's degree:
    1. motivation
    2. average grade from the bachelor's degree or HZP grade
  • Applicants entering 1st and 2nd semester Master's:
    1. motivation
    2. bachelor grade

Approval

  • for one academic year
  • Grant duration: 10 months
  • Grant amount: 300 EUR/month

Motivational Grant for graduates of PASCH schools

Funding is available for students from Armenia, Bulgaria, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Ukraine and Uzbekistan who are studying in their first Bachelor's year at the European University Frankfurt (Oder). This does not apply to post-graduate and further education programmes..

Grant period: 01st October 10, 2023 until probably 28th February, 2024

and, if applicable, continuation of the grant payment in the summer semester 2023 depending on good academic performance in the winter semester 2022/23 and continuation of the studies in the summer semester 2023.

Subject to the continued funding of the BIDS project by the DAAD, the European University Viadrina will award motivational grants for the winter semester 2023-24 (and, if applicable, the summer semester 2024) in accordance with the funds available for this purpose from the DAAD within the framework of the partner school initiative (funded by the German Foreign Ministry).

 

Amount of funding: 400 euros / month

Application deadline: 30th September, 2023 until 11:59 p.m.

The Social grant of the European University Viadrina is aimed at socially needy Polish students in undergraduate and consecutive study programs from the 3rd semester of Bachelor's degree (an application is possible during the 2nd semester) who are aiming for a degree at the Viadrina. It is primarily funded by donations.

Dear students at the European University Viadrina in study programs with at least 40% courses at the Faculty of Law!

The Gebrüder Humboldt Vereinigung e.V. offers up to five grants for Polish and Ukrainian-German residential communities.
Their academic training is usually supported with 100 - 200 €/month.

1. necessary requirements are:

actual living together in an apartment in Frankfurt (Oder) or Słubice and at least
one resident is enrolled in or has applied for one of the specified courses of study and is a native speaker of Polish or Ukrainian, but not a native speaker of German
one resident is a native speaker of German and a non-native or non-native speaker of Polish or Ukrainian.

2. selection criteria are for

first-time award: the educational grades, low number of semesters, law portion of the study program

the amount of the grant:
The rent and the general level of rent in the place of residence. As a rule, shared flats in Słubice are supported with 100 € and in Frankfurt (Oder) with 200 € per month. In the 1st semester of funding, higher amounts are conceivable to cover moving costs.

Continuation of the grant:
Joint attendance and voluntary commitment at the place of residence, good uni grades and linguistic progress.

The grant is initially granted, as a rule, for just under a year, namely from the winter semester until July or from the summer semester until February of the following year. It ends prematurely if the necessary requirements (above 1.) are no longer confirmed.

Grant Programs of the Viadrina

The Starting grant is intended to give grant holders an easier and carefree start to their studies. Accordingly, it is aimed at newly enrolled foreign students at the Viadrina in undergraduate and consecutive degree programs who are enrolled at a German university for the first time.

Applications are open to first-year students from: Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, first-year students from the Viadrina Intensive Track as well as first-year students from the Studienbrücke.

Amount of the grant: 300,00 € per month for a maximum of 10 months.

Social need can prolong or complicate studies. The purpose of the social grant is to relieve the grant holders of some of their financial worries and thus help them to study more successfully.
Socially needy foreign students in undergraduate and consecutive degree programs who are pursuing a degree at Viadrina and are within the standard period of study can apply for this grant. It is primarily funded by donations.

Students from: Poland

Amount of the grant: 300,00 € per month for a maximum of 10 months.

Outstanding academic performance is to be honored. Accordingly, the Merit-based grant of the European University Viadrina is aimed at particularly high-achieving German and foreign students in undergraduate and consecutive degree programs who are pursuing a degree at the Viadrina and are within the standard period of study. It is primarily financed by donations.

Students from: open to all countries, according to the call for applications.

Amount of the grant: 300,00 € per month for a maximum of 12 months

The Deutschlandstipendium grant is awarded at the European University to support talented students who are expected to achieve or have already achieved excellent results in their studies or career. Applications are open to all students in undergraduate and consecutive degree programs who are pursuing a degree at the Viadrina and are within the standard period of study.
It is financed proportionally by donations and federal funds.

Students from: open to all countries can apply.

Amount of the grant: 300,00 € per month for a maximum of 12 months

The grantss for refugees at Viadrina are addressed to socially and financially disadvantaged refugee students of Viadrina or prospective students who will be enrolled in an undergraduate or consecutive degree program in the winter semester 2023/24.

The grant is awarded for 10 months and has an amount of 700€.

Applications are now open for the academic year 2023/2024.
The application deadline is the 30th September 2023, 23:59 p.m.

Attention:
Due to a technical error, some applicants were unable to submit their application before the deadline. Therefore, the deadline has been postponed to the 11th October 2023, 23:59 p.m.

Until August 6, first-year students from non-academic households can apply for the B-First grant.

Master students can apply for a Claussen-Simon Foundation grant until July 2. They can also benefit from an interesting program.

The application deadline for The Deutschlandstipendium grants, Merit-based grants and social grants for the academic year 2023 - 2024 is May 30, 2023. For up-to-date information, please see the overview of all grant opportunities.

For the academic year 2022/2023, with the support of numerous donors, a total of 126 grants were awarded to students in undergraduate and consecutive degree programs at EUV.
