Connected to the Viadrina as part of a worldwide network

Teh Viadrina remains connected to its former students, teaching staff and employees. It endeavours not to break off these links, but to actively maintain them and develop them into a productive, sustainable relationship. It is not what you studied at the Viadrina, but the fact that you studied at the Viadrina that symbolises the special bond between its former students and their alma mater.

Friends and sponsors

Deutschland Scholarship

Since 2011, the federal government and private sponsors have been supporting students whose careers promise outstanding achievements in their studies and careers with the Deutschland scholarship. At the Viadrina, 684 young people have been supported in this way.

Sponsoring organisation

Since 1992, the "Förderkreis Europa-Universität Viadrina e.V." has been committed to the academic, cultural and student interests of the university. It promotes communication and cooperation between university members and committed citizens of the cities of Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice who are connected to the Viadrina in a special way.

Viadrina Prize Foundation

The Viadrina Prize Foundation's Board of Trustees decides on the Viadrina Prize winners every year. With the Viadrina Prize, the Viadrina has been honouring outstanding personalities and important initiatives from all areas of social life for their commitment to understanding, reconciliation and cooperation between Germany and Poland since 1999.

Honorary doctorates

The Viadrina recognises outstanding achievements in research, a special commitment to science and outstanding dedication to the European University with the award of an honorary doctorate. Until today the three Faculties have awarded twelve such honours.

Honorary senators

The Senate of the European University Viadrina awards the dignity of Honorary Senator on the recommendation of the President for outstanding services to the Viadrina in accordance with the University's Rules of Honour. Until today this honour has been awarded to six deserving individuals.

With the Viadrina Prize, the University has been honouring outstanding personalities and important initiatives from all areas of social life for their commitment to understanding, reconciliation and cooperation between Germany and Poland since 1999.

Europäische, deutsche, polnische und Frankfurter Flagge vor der Oder

Innovation Award

The Innovation Award of the Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt (Oder) René Wilke is awarded for outstanding student work in the field of cross-border innovation and cooperation. The prize is organised in cooperation with the European University Viadrina. Students from all three Faculties can submit seminar papers, term papers or final theses.
