Chancellor Robert Nissen

The Chancellor heads the administration of the European University Viadrina under the responsibility of the President

The Chancellor is responsible for ensuring and developing an efficient university administration. He is responsible for the areas of Student Affairs, Human Resources, Finance and Construction and Building Affairs, which are organised in Departments I-IV. The Legal Department, the Information, Communication and Multimedia Centre (IKMZ), the Viadrina Coworking Space and Viadrina Dialog und Transfer GmbH are also directly assigned to him.

Department of Student Affairs 1

The Department of Student Affairs is home to the Admissions Office, the Admission's Office and the Examinations Office. Together with the Service Point, they offer a comprehensive information and support service for students. Applicants and students should first contact the Service Point (by phone, email or in person) with any concerns and will then be forwarded to a competent contact person if required.

Department of Human Resources 2: Personnel Matters

The Department of Human Resources is responsible for Viadrina employees. Any open questions, such as electronic certificates of incapacity for work, business trips, forms, the job ticket, personnel costs, circulars, further training, job advertisements and time recording will be clarified by the employees of Department 2.

Department 3: Finance

The Department of Finance is responsible for the administration of all funds available to the university, purchasing and the management of research and development projects, contract research and other third-party contributions. The preparation of business plans, quarterly reports and annual financial statements as well as cost and performance accounting are also part of its remit.

Department 4: Central Services (Facility Management)

The Department of Facility Management is responsible for room planning, the organisation of special events and technical instruction. It also manages the post and photocopying office and the Guest House. Locksmith services and other services (repairs, waste disposal and cleaning) also fall within the remit of the department.
