Postdoctoral Research at Viadrina
In the postdoc phase, researchers with a completed PhD pursue the deepening and expansion of their academic and professional competences as well as the development of their academic career. In this phase, there are various options for an affiliation with the university and different paths to a permanent position in the academic system, for example via a tenure-track professorship or by applying for regular professorships via appointment procedures.

Employment and financing
As a postdoctoral researcher, you can apply for open academic positions (e.g., research assistants) at theFaculties, Professorships, and Research Institutes of Viadrina. For details, please refer to the current respective job advertisements.
Current vacancies and information on the application processAcquiring third-party funding for research projects is an elementary part of the academic world and can not only be the next step in your career as a postdoc, but also an important prerequisite for appointment to a Professorship. Various funding formats from national and international funding institutions offer you the option of financing your own research and your academic employment for several years.

With its tenure track program, Viadrina offers excellent career opportunities for researchers in an early career phase. As part of its successful participation in the tenure track program of the federal and state governments of Germany, Viadrina has now filled eight junior professorships with tenure track at all three Faculties and the European New School of Digital Studies in the period 2021-2023.
If you fulfill the appropriate academic qualifications, you can apply for new or reappointed Professorships at Viadrina as part of the appointment procedure. You can find all current vacancies here:

Further resources
As a postdoc, you are eligible to apply for funding from the Viadrina Center for Graduate Studies. This allows you to apply for a grant of up to EUR 750 once a year for a research-related activity (data collection, conference trips, publications, etc.).
Doctoral researchers also have the opportunity to have up to six hours of individual coaching per year funded by the VCGS.

The Viadrina is a member of the Postdoc Network Brandenburg (PNB), an association of the four Brandenburg universities. The PNB regularly publishes calls for fellowships and offers all postdocs in the state key qualification and networking opportunities.
