Campus, city and region

The Viadrina campus is located on the banks of the Oder. The terrace of the cafeteria offers a view of the river and a wide range of lunch options. There are also other cafeterias and bistros as well as a canteen in the Collegium Polonicum. In the neighbourhood of the campus, the city centre also offers various cafés, restaurants, cultural events and all the necessary facilities for daily needs.

Childcare and care

The Viadrina supports students and employees in finding suitable and good childcare. It also works together with local childcare facilities to combine family and career more easily. The Viadrina Family Office provides information and advice not only on organising childcare during working or study hours, but also on reconciling work and care.

Schools

Frankfurt (Oder) has nine primary schools, two secondary schools and two comprehensive schools, one of which is an elite sports school and the other an independent Waldorf school. There are also two grammar schools, one of which specialises in mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology. There are also two special schools and a sixth form centre.

Leisure

Whether sport, music, theatre, art or organisations - Frankfurt (Oder) and the surrounding area offer its residents a wide range of leisure activities. The neighbourhood provides lots of lakes, green spaces, forests and well-developed cycle paths. The park in the city centre was designed by master gardener Lenné. Since 2022, the coordination centre, which was set up by the city of Frankfurt (Oder) and the Viadrina, has become a strengthening cooperation culturally.
