Robert Nissen

Robert Nissen (born 1973 in Berlin) has been Chancellor of the European University Viadrina since 15 March 2023. After studying Law at the Free University of Berlin (1994-1998) and completing his legal clerkship at the Berlin Court of Appeal, he passed his second state examination in August 2002; from 2011-2013, he completed additional studies at the Helmholtz Academy for Management and Leadership. After working as a research assistant in the German Bundestag, as a personal assistant to the Vice President of the FU Berlin and Deputy Head of the Central Tasks Department of the FU Berlin, he was Head of Administration of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the TU Berlin from 2009-2013, Head of the Office of the Chancellor of the TU Berlin from 2013-2016 and Head of the Student Services Department of the TU Berlin from 2016-2023.
