Advice and current information
Counselling
Do you have questions about studying with a chronic physical and/or mental illness, impairment or disability? The Counselling Centre for Students with Health Impairments (Barrier-free Counselling Centre for short) advises prospective and current students on compensation for disadvantages, student financing and equal opportunities.
You are welcome to make use of the open telephone or personal consultation hours (without making an appointment) or arrange an individual appointment for a counselling session (by telephone, online or on site). Counselling is free of charge and confidential (the counsellor is bound by confidentiality).
Counselling options
You can arrange a personal, virtual or telephone via barrierefrei@europa-uni.de to arrange a consultation appointment. Please indicate your preferred option in your email.
The counselling service for students with health impairments is also available for you during the semester break!
Please note that absolute confidentiality cannot be guaranteed when communicating by email. The transmission of health-related data by email is therefore your own responsibility. The counselling service for students with health impairments recommends using the phone or in-person options for provision of detailed and/or confidential information.

Deadlines for applying for individual examination adjustments at the Language Centre
If you would like to apply for individual examination adjustments due to health impairments for language examinations, please contact the counselling service for students with health impairments as soon as you know that you will be taking an examination. The counselling service will conduct an individual, confidential consultation with you (in person, online or by telephone, depending on your preference) and inform you about the documents required to apply for examination adjustments. In order to ensure timely implementation of examination adjustments, complete applications – i.e., including the necessary specialist medical opinion, regarding which you will receive more detailed information in the previous consultation – must be received by counselling service at least three weeks before the examination. Applications for individual examination received after this date may not be implemented in time.
