The European Reform University Alliance
Since November 2023, the European University Viadrina has been a member of the European Reform University Alliance (ERUA), a network of eight universities stretching from the Canary Islands via France and Poland to Bulgaria and Greece.
The Viadrina is responsible for the area of "Student Engagement" (student participation). The ZLL is involved in the conception with students and staff and carries out measures to research and promote student participation, also in connection with ERUA.
Viadrina students have been actively involved in ERUA activities since January 2023. If you are interested in the international network activities, please contact us.

ERUA Training Plan for Teachers and Research Staff
We are pleased to present the first ERUA Training Plan for Teaching and Research Staff (2024-2027). This initiative is open to all academic staff at ERUA partner universities.
In the first semester of the 2024-2025 academic year, the courses are part of the Postgraduate Diploma in English as the Language of Instruction (EMI & ESP), Multimodal Communication and Technologies. This programme is designed to enhance teaching practices within EMI in higher education and contribute to the internationalisation of your classrooms, especially for those who teach or wish to teach their content in English. Upon successful completion of the programme, participants will receive a Postgraduate Diploma.
The five courses on offer are:
- Training for C1/C2 in English
- Multimodality and interaction in the classroom
- The varieties of the English language and cultures
- Communication in English in an intercultural context
- Speaking "real English"? Updating your bilingual language of instruction
