AI:KI @ Viadrina

Concerted further education on artificial intelligence in university teaching

The project, which runs from 1 October 2024 to 31 March 2025, is funded by the Innovation in Higher Education Foundation.

The basis of the project is the nationwide concept jointly developed by the network of state institutions for digital university teaching (NeL) 'State-specific scientific further education programmes on "Artificial Intelligence in University Teaching" (AI qualification)'

Both state-specific and nationwide offers are developed and provided as part of the programme. By opening up and transferring AI training and event formats to federal states that are not yet represented in NeL and through cooperation with existing local institutions, broad access and nationwide usability are made possible.

Workshop and training dates

AI in university teaching - pedagogical tool or ethical risk?

Speaker: Janne Mesenhöller (University of Potsdam)

Date: 13 February 2025

Time: 4 pm

Location: Online via Zoom

In this workshop, possible ethical and legal challenges in the use of AI in university teaching will be examined. In addition to theoretical impulses from research, classic topics such as data protection and plagiarism risks will be dealt with in practical exercises.

and to develop strategies for the responsible use of these technologies.

Please note that the workshop does not constitute legal advice.
On request, individual coaching sessions can be arranged to discuss specific issues in greater depth

KI and examinations - where do German universities stand?

Speaker: Bettina Gautel (University of Hanover)

Date: 14 March 2025

Time: 12 - 13:30

Location: Online via Zoom (Zoom link: https://europa-uni-de.zoom-x.de/j/68874354999?pwd=zh87b8vo8EuLpt97qFUn2BS8LfjasN.1)

This workshop will examine the structures of teaching and examinations in a world with ChatGPT. In addition to theoretical considerations, recommendations and ways of working at various universities will be presented and discussed. The aim is to initiate a dialogue on interdisciplinary and cross-university principles for dealing with AI tools in teaching and examinations and, in the future, also in the field of research, as the constant (further) development of AI tools challenges us not only in one subject, but also the university as an educational and research institution as a whole.
