A university is more than just a place of learning, teaching and research: at its best, it is a social community of everyone who shapes the university culture with their ideas and actions.
This is reflected in how we communicate and interact with each other, which topics we consider important and how decisions are made that are comprehensible for everyone.
As the Equal Opportunities Department, we are committed to a non-discriminatory Viadrina culture that includes and promotes all students and employees. We create space for dialogue on topics that affect many people, such as how to deal with long-term illness among employees. We provide information and advice on our topics, such as gender-equitable language. We welcome children of employees and students (Viadrini Welcome). Through events such as the Health Day, the Diversity Days or the exchange forum The Shared Humanity Experience, we create opportunities for participation, experimentation and action.
We would be delighted if you would join in and contribute ideas so that we can continue to work on making the Viadrina a place where we all enjoy spending our time. Feel free to contact us with your ideas, topics and feedback.
